Shifting

Shifting to Collaboration

in Follow Your Own Road, Shifting

Are you feeling overwhelmed, not leaving enough time for you for you to enjoy your life?

You know who you are, ready, willing and want to grow to the next level. How do you do this when you are already so busy?

It’s called collaborating. We need to shift our mind-set, shift of how we are doing things, to get where we want to go. By working with others, whether they are vendors, other solo-entrepreneurs or people who live in your community or far away. When you come together and collaborate, you can grow exponentially without, spending a lot of extra time.

How do I know this works?

Every Wednesday at noon, I collaborate with Bonnie Dubrow and we host a weekly Webinar series or show we call it, in helping professionals, solo-entrepreneurs “Become known as an authority in their niche”

Wouldn’t we all like to be an instant success. We are discussing, asking questions, interviewing people who are experts in their field or those who want help in getting to be an authority in their niche.

Bonnie and I met on BlitzTime, networking with each other and decided to do something together. We are loving it! It’s insightful, I am learning so much from each person that engages with us.

I also have a Mastermind Group, we meet every 2 weeks and share what’s going on, what we need support in, sharing tools and resources that may help us all. This certainly supports me, doing what I am doing.

Of course I am have asked to join other people in projects as well…some of these projects require some percolating time. What Bonnie calls noodling time.

This is what I am doing with the new version of Heart@Work. I am shifting to something else. It’s like my little voice is saying..time to let go and another part of me is saying NO, NO, I have too much invested in this site. I have been blogging and writing about Marketing, Social Media, Relationships now since 2004. It’s been a long time.. I don’t want to give it up!

My couple of other collaborations are writing, and supporting other difference makers on Heart Jam. On Sedona Social Media, my goal is to connect Northern AZ to Social media, by providing resources, people who can help you, post events like the Tweet Up’s that happen every month here in Sedona and the surrounding area.

What do people really want? Sometimes, we just don’t know and for some of us we know we need to shift but to what? and when?

I hope you will join me, perhaps we’ll shift together.

If you haven’t figured it out by now Social Media is about relationships. So many people seem to think that the more connections you have then it’s about calling this social proof. I don’t agree simply because you can have many followers, if they aren’t willing to share information or promote you or even ask you how they can help you or collaborate with you it’s very temporary. Then they truly aren’t interested in you, only themselves.

Is relationship marketing really that hard to do? It’s not hard, it’s just a different method of gaining business for your business. It may take longer, however your results will be much higher, better quality and more fun.

Here’s the how you can adopt the relationship party principle for your business.

▪ Invite people to your blog, website
▪ Introduce yourself to people on Facebook, Linkedin & any other networking platform
▪ Compliment people
▪ Share “Likes”
▪ Engage in conversation like “Hello”
▪ Offer valuable content
▪ Give FREE trials, Webinars and Tele-seminars, e-books
▪ Ask for referrals
▪ You want to be known, liked and trusted
▪ The average Twitter user will influence 500 people every day. (even if they have over 1,000 followers) Have you ever did a Twit Cleaner? Try it, you’ll discover who really follows you.

Now, let’s get into Twitter, it’s a news source..sharing your news, promotions and direct people to read your articles and blog posts. Be sure to share or brag about other people too, it’s not just about you. If all you do is to spend 5 – 10 minutes a day on Twitter to deliver your message. 80% needs to about other people, 20% is about you or your promotions.

The BIG rule is never to sell direct. Invite people to your events, your Facebook page, invite people for a 5-10 minute conversation.

If you were at a party, would you ask someone to hop in bed with you the 1st time you opened your mouth? (Yes, I have seen some guys do this). It’s insulting to think that you are that important that you would rather insult someone rather than have a conversation. What are some of your stories or pick-up lines you have received from people. I just got one today on Facebook…as Kim said, “How can you give a cheesy pick-up line and expect that someone would want to reply back?

Gesh..

When you force people to do business with you, then you are really wasting your time. It’s worst than a Used Car Salesperson, at least they say “Hello,” and ask questions.

I had someone call me from India, he wasn’t interested in conversation of sharing anything about himself, and just asked me “Do I want my Facebook redesigned.” , He said “he did was pretty good“. No, I don’t want to hire you, no matter how cheap it is, simply because I don’t know you, nor at this point of time do I like you.

Do I think he is effective? Perhaps he gets a few orders..is it a long term strategy? No.

You want to hang out with people that uplift you, support you and will help you. The kind of people you hang out with, will determine who you will become and develop your character.

P.S. I invite you to join me in for the Educational Series.. I will be interviewing John Guanzon on List Building
