4 Tips for Making Your Customers Special

The 4 tips for making your customers feel special are really simple. Being thoughtful, nice and kind just takes you some time to pay attention.

If a celebrity walked into your office, how would you behave? If you are like most people, you would stop, stare and drop what you are doing to pay attention to them. Eager to to serve them.

If Halle Berry walking into your restaurant, you would immediately, guide her to one of your best tables?

If Tom Hanks called you up and wanted information about your product or service you would, give him what he wanted with excitement?

What about the rest of your customers? Do you exclude the same excitement or enthusiasm?

A study done by Connell and Associates (2004) found that 45% of all respondents felt that most companies simply do not provide good customer service. In a Harris Interactive Study 80% of respondents stated they had made the decision to never do business with a company again because of bad customer service.

1. Give all of your customers top service with enthusiasm & excitement

2. Call them by name, Dale Carnegie said “That when you remember someone’s name you make them feel important.” Some restaurants name dishes after famous people.

3. What if you named some of your products after your best customers?
Remember and refer them people to their business services or products that they sell. A grumpy person or any other person find a way to make them smile.

4. Give them personal preferences. While your customer may not be picky as celebrities. Surprise your customer in little way and let them know you are paying attention to them. Ask your customers when they are checking in, at your hotel or restaurant what’s their favorite ________ ? Surprise and delight them by giving it to them. It’s much comfort to the customer/ guest to feel somewhat at home while they are traveling.

Are you offering a concierge service? Many hotels do. On weekends when the retail stores get busy, yes they have customer service counters, they also could have a concierge desk to give directions. More sales people and vendors tell people where to go and how to find it whatever they are looking for, rather than spending time with customers who want to buy something.

A sales person I know gives chocolates and pies to his clients just to say I appreciate your business.

Your customers are watching you. If you want to be branded as a great company who treats people well. Start doing something now.
