Get ready to Play

Get ready to play is a great way to have fun with your teammates, colleagues and all those you are in your workplace. One of the things we quite often leave out is having fun. Being very productive and working hard is great, sometimes just taking a break is better.

My interview with Robert Manolson, his company has been more about the effects of mental health at work. Without a space to breathe, it can damage us to a place where we become depressed, not taking care of ourselves, unhealthy habits start forming. This kind of environment can be destructive to the point where someone goes postal. Or the individual harms themselves enough to commit Suicide.

Suicide is the act of intentionally causing one’s own death. Mental disorders, including depressionbipolar disorderschizophreniapersonality disordersanxiety disordersalcoholismsubstance abuse.” According to my dictionary.

I’m writing about these kind of topics, as they are in the media, I’m not sure if there is enough being done to prevent this from happening. Yes, there is a national line to call. I believe we have to do more.

Acts of kindness I believe can and will make a difference. Here’s three ideas you can do to keep your relationships in check and help you to feel better.

  1. Call your friends, colleagues, or people you have met just to say hello. They may not respond back right away at least you are reaching out. Bring some sunshine into their life.
  2. If someone is going through a hard time, or struggling to get a job do a shout out for them – there is a guy on LinkedIn does this for people. We’ll more likely find a good job through people we know, than keep applying for jobs.
  3. If someone is going through a challenging time, meet them for coffee or take them a meal or invite them over for a meal or glass of wine. It will really help them and they will really appreciate it.

There are many more suggestions -these are a good starting place. I encourage you to take a look at what Robert is doing to help company workplaces with his Powerful Play classes.
