The Enneagram

Events

The Enneagram is the definitive personality test and self-discovery guide that will empower you to understand yourself and the people you have relationships with. Enneagram comes from a Greek word “ennea” meaning “nine” and grammos, “meaning points”

I’ve recently have taken a couple of workshops about what my number is, how I have been relating to people close to me, why, what I do is or is not working. I was curious. What is it, why it’s important and what are the benefits of it.

What is it?

It can help you learn how to bring a positive change into your life. The way you related to yourself and others. A greater understanding of the issues you face in your life.

Why is it important to know?

We all run with unconscious behaviors that whether we are aware of them or not drive us in a negative or positive way. Each type or number is what it is called, will help you determine your reactions or you way of dealing with the relationships in your life. If you want to be happier then it would be important to you learn more

Benefits?

Elaine Culverwell, I took her workshop with, she said, “It saved her marriage.” As a family therapist she uses the Enneagram in her work with families, couples, parents and teens. Even with prisoners.

You will gain a tremendous amount of knowledge about why people think, act and feel the way they do,

It’s gives you an incredibly accurate look at who you are and why you do the things you do,  it can be the equivalent to about 6 months of therapy. It can give you a life you don’t need to recover from.  Also, you discover that people you love aren’t really trying to drive you crazy – they probably just have a very different way of perceiving the world than you do.

After learning about all the types of personalties and knowing more about me, the people who teach and work with the Enneagram says it’s about having more compassion and understanding about each other. No Judgement.

I’ll keep you in the loop when I find out my number.. still working on discovering it. One of the things, I was thinking about when I start doing workshops is, “Can the Enneagram be a bridge for companies to embrace more kindness in their business policies?”

A friend of mine yesterday said, “What company wouldn’t?” If you would, do you have a clause that says that on your website?

I’m just exploring some ideas and tools to help people.
