Creating a new you in a healthy workplace, culture that will work for your co-workers it’s all about value based branding.
In this post I’m going to push it out further. Branding is your signature – what you present. It is about what do you bring to your workplace – it’s Joy, Love or other virtues? Branding is also considered what your audience experiences from you. What kind of initiatives do you have at work that you can participate in? Are there programs that every employee can take part in to help create a better place to work at?
Do you have volunteer opportunities that you and your employees can do as a group or just on their own to participate in. For example a employee was given so many credits to participate in his local community per month, plus he as able to get paid to volunteer. What he did then, was donate his money he volunteered for. Not everyone needs to do this, for him he enjoyed it.
Does each employee have a written value statement they work by at work? If not, has the workplace created one together?
Did you know that 72% customers prefer to buy from value- based companies? What are your values when you are considering creating a new you.
What are your values?
“A personal or cultural value is an individual’s assumptions of ethical value that can form basis for action. A principle value is a foundation upon which other values and measures of integrity are based. As such, values reflect a person’s sense of right and wrong or what “ought” to be. “Equal rights for all”, “Excellence deserves admiration”, and “People should be treated with respect and dignity” are representative of values. Values tend to influence attitudes and behavior.”
Here’s how to start:
1. Create a vision statement for yourself
2. What are your values – what is important to you
3. What do you want people to feel or experience with you
4. What feedback do you get back from your customers – what do they say about your services or products?
5. What are there BIG things you can do now?
Don’t be shy in expressing who you are and share your values that you want to be remembered by. Creating a new you, needs work, and how you show up needs to be congruent – your actions need to be the same in your personal and business life. They aren’t separate.
