Sometimes you need help. Sometimes you can help. Sometimes you’re both.
Hi, I’m Mari-Lyn Harris, Founder of Heart@Work and the creator of Kindness Village.
For years, my work has centered around one question: how can we bring more kindness and humanity into the way we live and care for one another?
That question eventually led me to housing. I began seeing that affordability is only part of the challenge. People are also experiencing loneliness, isolation, and a loss of belonging.
I’m creating Kindness Village to explore a different approach—a community where smaller, attainable homes and shared spaces are intentionally designed to help people connect and belong.
I’m not a traditional housing developer. I’m a community builder and advocate who brings people and ideas together. Today, I’m building the partnerships needed to turn Kindness Village from a concept into a real community.
At the heart of all my work is a simple belief: kindness can be more than something we practice. It can be something we build.”
