Being Self-Aware Today

Being Self-Aware Today

Being self-aware today is transforming. Self-aware people will transform the workplace culture. If you aren’t, you’ll keep getting what you don’t want.

By taking a look at our core beliefs or values, they run the show – so unless you are aware of what’s making the decisions for you, you keep getting what you don’t want.

If the past is present, what does this exactly mean?

Whether we are aware or not, as we make judgements and view the world through our child’s eyes or memories we attached those into our life experiences.

We can learn a lot from what we say and what we believe to be true. If you just take 15 minutes to self-reflect upon these questions, it will help us to discover many insights.

1. What’s your earliest memory that you can remember, that stills sticks with you today? Try to recall an specific event, or experience not just a feeling.

2. What are your impressions that you have of yourself in this memory?

3. What impressions do you have about other people who were there with you in this memory?

4. How has this memory contributed to your actions or behaviors today?

5. How might the experience you had back then, relate to yourself today?

When you see your answers to the questions, you may start to recognize some attachments of why your life may not work well for you today, or at least some patterns.

Beliefs are just anything that hinders in your life. A limiting belief is the past conflicting with what you want today. They are usually developed during childhood, adolescence, or through traumatic life experiences.

Most people don’t want to look at this issue, unless they are in pain. If we want break up the pain, to move forward, then we need to start weeding out the things that don’t work out so well, and find beliefs that will empower us. It’s a great time to check in with ourselves to see how self-aware we are.

Our brain is great at finding ways to provide evidence to support what we should believe.

Beliefs that we hang on to either empower us or dis-empower us.

Like I’m not good enough.  I am unattractive or pretty. The world is full of selfish people. I can’t get what I want. Everyone is better at their job, than I am.

These core beliefs are inaccurate. If you consider the examples above are right, they will have a great influence in your life.  Not doubt you likely struggle with self-esteem and confidence.

If you think everyone is better than you, then you may feel small and unimportant. If you feel everyone just takes and doesn’t give, then this will affect to what you are willing to give and share. Being Self-Aware Today, means checking in with yourself.

Core beliefs are often inaccurate, as they are the ones that are operating in your life. Negative ones will drastically reduce your chances of success, of joy and positive experiences.

This is why our beliefs are often running the show, our past is present.

Here’s a few questions to ask yourself:

1. What am I passionate about? How can I spend more time pursuing the things I’m passionate about?

2. What events am I focusing on in the past that are hindering my ability to live fully in the present?

3. In what areas am I waiting for someone else to take responsibility for me?

4. What’s holding me back? How can I move forward?

There are many more questions you could be asking yourself.. I think you get the gist..  If any of this is resonating with you, book a call with me. Also check out more about me.

It’s time to wake up and smell the coffee.

How your thoughts and beliefs work:

Watch your thoughts and beliefs – they become your words and actions

Watch your words and actions – they become your habits and decisions

Watch your habits and decisions – they become your character

Watch your character – it becomes your destiny.

Who would of thought?

Being Self-Aware Today, is going yourself permission to be kinder, for health and wellness.
